"KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong menzahirkan ucapan takziah kepada seluruh keluarga Pengasas dan Presiden Universiti Teknologi Kreatif Lim Kok Wing, Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing yang telah meninggal dunia pada pagi hari ini.
Seri Paduka Baginda turut menzahirkan rasa sedih dengan pemergian mendiang dan berharap agar seluruh keluarga mendiang sabar dan tabah menghadapi dugaan dan suasana pilu ini.
Seri Paduka Baginda amat menghargai khidmat bakti serta jasa mendiang kepada masyarakat dan dunia pendidikan inovatif negara.
Mendiang memulakan kerjayanya sebagai kartunis, menghasilkan strip komik terbitan tempatan pertama di Malaysia dan Singapura, ABU, yang ketika itu diterbitkan dalam surat khabar Eastern Sun.
Mendiang kemudian beralih ke bidang periklanan, di mana beliau menubuhkan agensinya sendiri, Wings Creative Consultants.
Dalam tempoh kurang tiga tahun, agensi berkenaan mencipta nama sebagai antara agensi utama di negara ini, dan pada 1988, bekerjasama dengan BBDO, salah sebuah agensi kreatif multinasional terbesar di dunia.

"One month to the day after I had dinner with Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing, he is gone. My relationship with him has always been professional. I was a regular freelance Illustrator pre-internet days at Wings Creative, BBDO, and LIMKOKWING Institute of Creative Technology. He was a hard taskmaster. Demanding a fault. Crazy as hell. But we worked through many nights of "needed yesterday" campaigns through the years. Every one of them adrenaline charged, coffee fueled frenzies of creative outputs. Many ideas were sketched. Ripped apart. Redrawn. Repeat. Those were the years I was challenged, stretched, pushed, and inspired to go beyond my limits. So even though I never went to art school, I went through the University of Life. It lifted me. I am still in orbit. Love him or hate him, there is no denying he left a huge impact on the creative industry. Rest In Peace, Tan Sri.
